Goodnight mom! Goodnight dad!, I yelled from halfway up the stairs. It was Friday and a good day, so when the end came, I was exhausted. I headed to the top of the stairs and was on my way to my room,when I took a detour to my sister's room. Lord knows I only went to her room to bother her, but as usual she was on her phone. She spends hours a day talking to the one guy she's in love with, but he's too oblivious to know that. As soon as I knew who she was talking to I yelled "TELL HIM VANA!", and she responded with "SHUT UP NOVA!" It's always a constant back and forth with us, but we all knew I loved my big sister. So when I finished with her, I was on my way to my bedroom when I felt a cold breeze in the hallway. It was weird because no windows were opened, and the air conditioner wasn't on. So I just let it go, I didn't want to think too much about it, so I headed for my room.
I entered my room, and began putting on my cupcake jammies. My bed was past my closet door, so as I headed my bed I felt another breeze. And this one felt as if it came from my closet. "I must be getting paranoid"; I thought to myself. So I had to go to my closet and check it out. As I got closer to my closet, it was getting colder and colder. When I placed my hand on the closet door, it was as cold as ice. I opened the door to find a not so verdure scene, but an icy, snowy, cold, white scene. I stepped through my closet and let out a little giggle because it felt like I stepped into Narnia. Then I burst out in laughter. As soon as I stopped laughing and got a hold of myself, I took a few steps, and passed out. Well actually, I didn't so much as pass out, but got knocked down out onto the snowy ground. I don't know how long I was out for, but when I awoke, I had a head injury. I tried to stand up and recall what happened. It seemed when I broke out into laughter I scared a nearby creature. I didn't know what I scared, but as it was running my way, it looked like a deer. I know what you're thinking, why didn't I run or move, or scream. I couldn't, at the moment I was trying make out what was heading my way, and it was like my feet were sinking into the floor. It was as if I was being pulled into the snow. When I stood up, I realized I was standing in a stranger's house. The house was surrounded with herbs and symbols, and that was when I knew that a healer must have tended to my head injury. As soon as I regained somewhat little strength, I bolted out the house and just ran. As I was running, each gust of wind was like a slap of cold air. I had been running for at least five minutes, when I ran into a guard. I had no idea where he came from, and it was difficult to see anything let alone another person. When I looked at him, he was standing in front of a wide and tall, metal gate engraved with name "ELMORE". The next thing I knew, the guard was leading me inside the gate, where a castle was protected. The castle was enormous. Some parts of the castle were covered in snow, so I was only able to see some windows, and what lay within the windows. Inside the windows were beautiful and colorful rooms. For the parts covered in snow, the sun would reflect the colors of the glass, so the snow wouldn't always be the same color. Nevertheless, we kept walking towards the castle doors. As soon as we were inside, I couldn't keep my eyes off of the beautiful architecture all around. We walked far enough into the castle for a boy to notice that the guard wasn't at his post. He came to meet us, and had a puzzled look on his face. The first thing he did was question the guard of his doing. As the boy was talking to the guard, I analyzed him. His dress appearance resembled a scion. Before the boy left, the guard responded with a "Yes your highness". At that moment I knew that he must be either the King or the Prince, but he looked to young to be the King, so Prince it was. When the Prince began to walk away, he was far enough not to hear what the guard had said. He said, "Why do I have to deal with this worthless thing". He was obviously talking about me, so what did I do? I punched him in his smug face! Sure enough the punch sent the guard stumbling back a few feet, but when he regained his balance, he shoved me to start moving in a certain direction. So I asked him,"WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME!". Him being him didn't respond for about three minutes. In those three minutes, he had lead me to a room filled with cells that had more darkness than light. As the guard was forcing me into a cell, I attempted to expostulate with the guard. Nothing changed. When I was in the cell, the guard left. About twenty-five minutes worth of silence went by, when I began to get numb because of the coldness. This castle was in the middle of nowhere and it was a freezing hell all around. In the next minute or so, I began to hear voices. The voices that were growing louder were the voices of the guard and the prince. I had recognized the prince's voice from our earlier encounter. Then I realized when the guard left me, he just went to stand outside the room. The prince and the guard were arguing intensely. I heard the prince ask, "Where is the girl from before?", respectfully the guard replied,"In the first cell, your highness". The prince then exclaimed, "WHY! GET HER OUT AND BRING HER TO ME". In return the guard did as he was commanded. When the guard took me out of the cell, and the room, I saw the prince waiting for me. In the small moment of silence the prince introduced himself as, Prince Theodore Green Winter of Elmore, but he usually goes by Prince Theo. I replied with, " I am Nova Dutch, and before you ask; no, I am not Dutch". My last comment made him smirk, and I then realized his cute dimples. In the time it took him to smirk I had a chance to look at him. I saw brunette hair, bushy eyebrows, green-brownish eyes, and a well dressed person. For a second I was confused, because when I saw him before his eyes appeared brown, and now I was seeing the green. After our little laughter moment, he gave me his coat because of the coldness the castle seemed to carry. Prince Theo then instructed me to follow him. We walked for ten minutes exactly because I was nervous. When I'm nervous, I begin counting every minute, so I know things precisely. After the ten minutes we stopped in front of double doors. When we stopped the guard knocked on the door, twice and exclaimed, "Sir Prince Theo enters". The Prince then entered the room and I followed him. When he stopped, I couldn't help myself but to allow my eyes to wander. I saw what looked like a study room. There were books to fill three libraries, there was an enormous fireplace with a picture hung above it, and amazing paintings. The picture included The King, The Queen, two Princes and one Princess, and then I saw them. I allowed my eyes to wonder far enough to see part of Royal Family of Elmore. First I focused on the younger prince who appeared to be about ten. He was involved with a vigorous study of French, and right ahead of Prince Theo stood the King and Queen. As I followed Prince Theo, he moved forward. I stopped when he told me to, so that he would have some space to talk to his mother and father. The Queen was in the conversation for no more than two minutes, when she came to me. She began to speak to me. She then asked for my name. I told her, "I'm Nova". She then replied with her title," I am Queen Anastasia Green Winter of Elmore, and my, aren't you beautiful". I was in the middle of thanking her for the compliment, when someone burst through the double doors. It was the Princess, she burst through the doors in excitement, and was exclaiming to her family of how she finally won her fence match against her trainer. When her family heard, they exclaimed their joy and pride for her, and then got back to their business. The Princess thanked her family and then went to help with her younger brother. After that all I heard was the King speaking, he told his son; "Oh, for heavens sake Theo, this girl is not a threat, she doesn't even know anything of our world, and she's probably freezing". And so I interjected, "I can promise you all, I am no threat, I don't even know how how I got here, or even where I am, and YES I am freakin' freezing in this place. Don't you guys ever get cold?", to that the King replied, "My dear, my family has lived here for generations, we mainly know the cold, and not to much warmth". I said to the King, "I'll take that as a no". To my comment the Queen, King, and Prince giggled a little, and replied to me,"Yes dear". The King then instructed Theo to help me get home, because they all knew I didn't belong in Elmore, and I didn't. So, Prince Theo led me to the gate where it was time to say our goodbyes. Before I left the Prince asked me," Who are you?", to which I responded, "I already told you who I was". In the time we were talking the wind was getting more intense and colder. He then said, " I mean where did you come from, because I've never met a girl like you", I told him, "No offense, but you need to get out more dude", '"Dude?"' he said, " I mean your highness". He giggled, and at that moment I knew this was going to be the last time until I saw those dimples again. Yet again before I stepped through the gates, I attempted to give him his coat back, but he insisted I kept it, so I'd something to remember him and Elmore by. To which I told him, "Maybe I'll come back", and he replied, "I'd like that". Not to long passed after we talked at the gate, but I urged myself to leave, because I had to get home. So as I stepped through the gates, everything went dark and I couldn't see anything. I stopped where I was, opened my eyes, and spread my arms out to feel what was around me. I felt clothes all around. I also felt a door and I went bursting through that door into my own room. The first thing I did was look at my clock, I saw it was almost midnight. It felt like I was in a different world forever, only to discover I was there for two and a half hours. I was so excited and cold, so instead of going to sleep in my bed I went to the den. I walked to the opposite side of the hallway and lit the fireplace. I sat down not to close to the fireplace with Theo's coat still surrounding me, and thought about the experience I had. My thoughts then put me to sleep.
