There was once a kingdom in the east known for it's enchanting nature and divine landscape called Eden Kingdom. This Kingdom was so beautiful and filled with many wonderful little creatures. It was where people and outsiders came to explore and for natural health remedies. Within the Kingdom walls lived The King, Queen, and their four children; two princes and two princesses. King Nathan was the primal ruler of the kingdom, but everyone else knew that behind the walls, Queen Erica was the real boss. The King and Queen were blessed with two seventeen year old twins, one ten year old prince, and a little five year old princess. Prince Vincent and Princess Vera were like fire and ice. Prince Theo always had the energy of a monkey, and the youngest of em' all, Princess Lana. She was very cute, shy and stubborn, but she also had a wild side when brought out by big brother Theo. One night the castle had a ball in celebration of the Queen's birthday. The King and Queen invited many other royals from different regions to the ball and the people of their kingdom. When all the guest arrived it was time for the royal family to present themselves. So everyone calmly walked down the stairs in pairs. First one down came Prince Theo with his little sister; Princess Lana. Theo was dressed in a handsome grey suite covering his white shirt, a black slim tie, and black shoes. Little Lana was wearing a ball gown that's top was bubblegum pink, and had white ruffles with a few butterflies on the bottom, small pink shoes and pearl earrings. Next came the twins, Prince Vincent was wearing a navy blue suit with a white shirt and a maroon tie and black shoes. Princess Vera was dressed in a strapless night blue white ombre dress with black high heels and white flower earrings. Finally came The Queen herself alongside her husband. Queen Erica was wearing strapless white ball gown laced with gold that covered her torso, the bottom of her dress, and in various places of the dress with white high heels and the stiletto part was covered with gold. The King was wearing a black suite with a white shirt and a gold tie with black shoes.
The night was filled with stars and the weather was peaceful. There was live music, lots of different cultural foods, dancing, and fire works. About an hour into the party a band of musicians were preparing to perform when Princess Vera took an interest at the tables scattered with food. There, she was having trouble deciding what to eat, but she secretly knew that she wanted to try everything. A second before the band began performing, Vera's attention was directed towards that area and as soon as she turned around, she locked eyes with one the the performers. They locked eyes for about fifteen seconds and everything around them disappeared. Not to long after one the the band members snapped the boy out of his own world, and at the same time an obnoxious, rude yet handsome, prince from the north snapped Vera out of her world, causing them to tear away from each other; Prince Ryan of Avondale. The Eden and Avondale family were really close friends, for as long as time could remember. Vera wasn't particularly fond of Ryan but the feeling wasn't mutual, and despite her thoughts and feeling of Ryan, she was always kind to him. Ryan only attempted to get with Nova because she always played hard to get. Those who knew Vera, knew that she was independent and devoted herself to the studies of many subjects; nature, science, math, history, herself as a person, combat, and languages alongside other things. So while Ryan was talking to Vera about himself and his accomplishments (like usual), she was in her own little world. She was day-dreaming about the boy. Ryan was just standing in front of Vera talking about how great and expensive his suit was, and how great he was at combat training. Although Ryan was a jerk everyday; all day, his little sister was the opposite. Princes Jenna, but everyone called her Jennie was so cute and best friends with Theo. The few times the Avondale family came to visit was for special occasions, Jennie would always play with Theo, and they were good to each other. She loved playing with little creatures. Theo would always jokingly tease Jennie about the blanket she always carried around with her. But for the most part the two children played kindly and were sweet to one another. They enjoyed playing and exploring the gardens and forests within the Eden Kingdom. So while the band was playing everyone was off in different parts of the room hanging out with friends, dancing, and eating. Everyone was having a great time; all except Vera. When their songs were over the band gave the stage up for other bands to perform. The music was very upbeat and fun; everyone was enjoying it. About two and a half hours into the ball and it was time for gifts. So the music stopped everyone went to the gathering hall; the place where the gifts were placed to be opened. The Queen sat down in her special chair and everyone gathered around to watch her open her gifts. The Eden family stood right by the Queen's side and waited patiently. When the time came for the boy to give his Queen her present he did so and then laid eyes on Princess Vera once again. They were looking at each other for so long everyone else around was confused. The boy took his eyes off her to look around, and saw everyone had a puzzled at himself and the princess; the boy took it as the signal to move on. But before he left he introduced himself to the princess as Henry. The gift unraveling took about an hour until the Queen figured she'd open the rest another day. When it ended it was time for cake. Every single face in the room lit up when the cake came out. It was five stacks tall of alternating pink and white, decorated with purple flowers and coated with frosting. So then it came time for everyone to sing "Happy Birthday", Vera and Henry couldn't seem to keep their eyes off each other, and at that same time Ryan took interest in Vera. He noticed something was going on, but he couldn't put his finger on it. After the song the servants began to hand everyone a piece of cake. While the servants were handing out cake, Henry and Vera took it upon themselves to sneak away. Vera led them into a little hallway with dim lights and a few paintings of various landscapes. Once they stood still, Vera turned around t face Henry, and they just stood there until one spoke. Vera broke the silence with a soft " Hi", to which Henry replied, "Hi". Henry then told Vera how it was his first time in the castle, so Vera took it upon herself to show him her favorite part of the castle. Henry began following Vera down the hallway, then they made a right and followed the hallway to a dead end. Henry was so confused that he asked Vera, "Is this it?" Vera didn't bother replying and just gave him a "can you not be patient" look. Vera turned around to face the end of the hall, and she placed both her hands on the wall. She closed her eyes, and let her hand wander against the wall, while Henry stood behind her patiently. About two minutes passed as Vera was trying to find the secret door not many knew about. Once she found it she attempted to open the door but the door was rusty and dusty, so it wouldn't budge. Henry then asked,"Do you need help", Vera replied, "No, I got it". She was still trying to open the door but it still wouldn't cooperate, and Henry again insisted on helping her, but Vera wouldn't allow him to help. Finally she got the door open and gave Henry a "I told you I could get it open" look. The hallway was full of darkness, but Vera used rome the forgotten hallways almost all the time, specially this one to get away from anything and everything so she knew it inside and out. Before she began walking, she stood in the entry way, rose her left arm and placed in on the wall. Then she started walking and Henry followed. He was falling a little behind and when Vera noticed, she took his hand into hers. At that moment Henry's heart fluttered, and so did Vera's. When Henry held Vera's hand a little tight, she made the assumption that he didn't like the dark. Vera then told Henry," Hey you know you're crushing my hand right?", Henry took a second to respond,"Oh, I'm sorry, it's just that I don't really like the dark". Henry had no clue that at that moment Vera had a little smirk on her face because she knew she was right and thought it was cute. Vera told Henry, "It's okay, we don't always have to be strong", and Vera held on to Henry's hand a little tighter which made Henry feel safe. The two we walking for about five minutes until Vera left hand touched a door, and at that moment they Vera knew they were there. She then began to try and open the door. It took a good forty-five seconds to get the door open, but once it was open, Henry and Vera made their way through it. Once they were through the door they stood still because it was dark. Vera told Henry, "Stay there", so Henry did as he was instructed. Once Vera found a light to the room, Henry realized they were in a library. He than began walking to the center of the room, he was so amazed and curious to why Vera had led them that room of all places in the castle. While Henry stood in amazement he asked Vera, "Why?". While Vera was making her way towards him, she began explaining to him, "This is my favorite place in this whole castle. Everyone may think of place of a blessing to live here, and don't me wrong its amazing and I'm grateful, so I don't want to come off as complaining but this place is also like living in a fort. We barely get to leave, to see the rest of our kingdom let alone the world we live in. There are only a few places where I actually get to feel like I'm outside, like I'm actually with people learning new things". As they stood in each others presence, Henry asked her, "What are the other places", to which Vera responded, "Oh I'm sorry for that little rant, we don't have to talk about that". But Henry wanted to, he wanted to get to know this girl, to see what kind of person she is hiding underneath all the dresses and manners. Henry told Vera," It's alright, I want to hear it". So Vera began talking again. She told him, "I love going to the garden, where I can stand in the sun. Where I'm outside, I can smell the flowers, and feel the wind rushing by me, and I can paint an image of what what I see, and what I imagine is out there. The kitchen, it's like the one place where I can talk to the women and I learn how to cook a little. They're very nice ladies and have wonderful stories to tell. And lastly I love the training room." Once Vera said that, Henry had a little grin on his face, he was amazed to why she loved it there. Vera then explained, "Training is very relaxing, and I enjoy learning about the different types of weapons and physical arts of fighting." They were just standing in the middle on the room talking when Henry insisted on them taking a seat. They sat down on a beige couch, and Vera said, "Never mind me, Tell me about you." So Henry began talking about the place he came from. He told Vera, "I'm eighteen, I have a twin brother named Barry, a little sister named Kara and she's about five years old , and an awesome mom who's devoted everything she can to us three children, so now you know about me and I know about you, but what I don't know is who was that guy at the food table?" Vera responded, "Oh him, that was Prince Ryan of Avondale, he's really self centered, and likes to tell me all about himself and his accomplishments. I really don't like him, but I still have to be nice". Henry then told Vera, "wow sounds like a fool, for not even taking an interest in you" Vera laughed at Henry's comment and then replied, "Oh, the thing is he does have an interest but he knows he'll get anywhere near there with me, so he still keeps trying for who knows what reason". When Vera repositioned her right hand, she grunted an "ow". Concerned Henry asked what's wrong, Vera told him," I think you broke my hand". Henry had a worrisome look on his face, until Vera told him," Oh, I was just kidding, don't frown. You did have a tight grip, but I'll be fine". Henry still had a frown on his face even after she told him she fine, so she took his hand into hers to comfort him and they just laid on the couch. It had been a long afternoon, so unknowingly they both drifted off into a sleep. When Henry woke he found Vera head on his right shoulder and they were still hand in hand. He then subtly woke Vera up, and she asked," Oh my, what time is it?" Henry told her," I have no idea but it's late and I should probably go". As they got up from the couch Henry asked Vera, "Maybe I could come back sometime, I'd love to actually come back and explore this library with you", to which Vera responded, "I'd like that very much". They headed towards the library entrance door, as before they left, Vera turned off the light. As Vera led, they began walking down the hallways, and they held hands. Once they reached the stairs to the main room they realized that the party was over. Vera figured that her family thought she called it an early night, so as they walked down the stairs they laughed a little. When they approached the doors of the castle, Henry turned around, rose the hand he was holding to his lips and gave Vera's hand a soft gentle kiss. Then he turned around getting ready to open the door when Vera didn't let go of his hand; making Henry turn around again. They faced each other with a look on their face that said, I don't want you to leave and a I don't want to leave. Still just standing Vera slowly began to move towards him, and as she got closer to him her heart was racing. When they finally got close enough Vera placed her soft lips on Henry's and when they pulled away from each other, they came back together for another final kiss. Then he left, leaving both of them with a grin on their face. And as Vera began walking up the stairs heading to her room, she brushed her fingers against her lips, keeping the memory of their kiss.
